Here Are Some of the Messages I Love to Share

1. No One Compares

In this message, I share what my pots think about themselves and what they say to me. Some pots compare themselves to other pots, or compare themselves to what they thought they would become, or compare themselves to the ideal they think they should be. So much comparison... And a lot more dialogue with me besides.

Then I share what I, the potter, say back to these pots. The object lesson througout is pretty evident: you and I probably have a lot to say to ourselves and to our maker, and in this message, I share what our Potter says back to us. No one compares to you, because No One is comparing.

This message is great for people of all ages and all places along the road of faith. I have shared it with women's retreats, MOPS groups, Mother-Daughter teas and youth groups and am amazed at how the object lesson resonates. This message creates easy prompts for rich table or small group discussion. Approximately 30 minutes long, though I offer a 20 minute version if needed. Honorariums greatefully accepted.*

2. Workshop: How is Your Abiding?

In this message, I include audience participation to model what it looks like to serve others when we are abiding in Christ versus when we've taken "marching orders" and are going at it on our own. The workshop format includes opportunities for your team members to reflect and self-evaluate as well as share experiences with their table or small group.

This message is for people who desire to serve others in faith. The workshop format is ideal for ministry teams, church staff, or any group of Jesus followers who want to spend time reflecting on His call to abide in Him. As a workshop, it is 50-60 minutes long. As a message where I do not pause for in-group processing and reflections, it is 20 minutes long. Honorariums gratefully accepted.*

Start With Laughter

This is an improv comedy facilitation where your group members come up front to be the performers. Drawing on my 7 years of experiencing emceeing with a professional improv comedy troupe, I begin with my own stand up comedy to loosen us all up, and then I lead the improv games in a very accessible, very supportive mode. There is nothing like laughter to help a group of people connect, relax, and transition away from their every day to land in the moment. And there is nothing like the laughter an audience offers when their own fellow spectators become the performers.

This idea often makes coordinators nervous: who on earth is going to want to stand up and try to be funny? The answer 100% of the time is that about 10% of your group is made up of natural performers, people who love getting up on stage. So if you have a group of at least 30 people, this is going to work for you.

This event is ideal for kicking off your group at the start of your yearly schedule, or beginning at weekend, large group retreat. It is ideal for team building among staff. I am committed to offering clean, family friendly comedy. This particular facilitation has no explicit religious content and is suitable for secular contexts. It is 30-60 minutes long, depending on your needs. Honorariums gratefully accepted.*

3. Weekend Retreat Facilitation & Keynote

For this service, I begin your first session with the "Start With Laughter," and then share during an additional keynote session. This keynote could be "No One Compares," or a different message that lines up with the theme or core message you are offering. I am also available to offer breakout workshops or talks at your retreat for no additional fee. Please contact me to talk about payment, as there are many variables to consider.*

4. Have a Topic in Mind?

I have had the pleasure of sharing many other messages that amplify many different themes. I am a teacher at heart. My greatest joy is developing new messages -- From verse by verse Bible teaching, to Biblical messages on a certain theme, to messages I've learned as a potter about The Potter. Please contact me if you have something in mind for your group and I'd love to work with you.

As for my fee...

*I understand that ministries work within certain budgets. My priority is to share messages of encouragement and insight with fellow travelers who want to hear about how The Potter sees them. I definitely appreciate being compensated for my time, and I understand the need to work with different ministries' budgets. For locations beyond a 30 minute drive from Black Forest, Colorado, I do require a travel budget, but am available for online presentations if you have the tech to support it.
